14 is the minimum age.
Do I need prior rowing experience to attend camp
No, we are here to help with any experience level.
What should I bring to the rowing camp
Lots of summer sports kit for being on the water (eg. shorts and t-shirts), SPF50+, sun hats, beachwear, trainers, casual summer clothing, small first-aid kit.
Are meals provided during the camp or should I bring my own food
All meals are provided on camp. Rowers are welcome to bring some additional snacks, or buy some on camp. Please note, we have a strict NO NUT policy in place at all times.
What safety measures are in place during rowing sessions
All rowers must be able to swim. Coaching boats will accompany rowing boats at all times. Our rowing venues have immediate access to local medical centers, 5 minutes from lake. All rowing staff are First Aid trained. It is the responsibility of rowers to carry asthma inhalers and epipens at all times where applicable
Do I need any rowing equipment or is it provided by GL Camps
All equipment is provided. If you own any personal items you like to take in a boat with you (rate meter/seat pads please bring).
What is the daily schedule like on camp
Depending on your ability level and what you would like to get out of each camp will determine the workload of each day. Expect to be on the water twice each day, lots of lovely food, additional gym work, support with stretching sessions, relaxation time ahead of each evening meal and finally we will finish each day with a relevant sporting workshop.
Is there a rowing/gym dress code
Our main advice here is protection from the sun outdoors (t-shirts, hats etc) and for any gym work, please wear whatever you are comfortable in.
What is the cancellation /refund policy incase I am unable to attend:
Please see our full explanation on refund policy details at Further Information drop down.
How can I stay in touch with my child during camp
Our rowers will be busy during each day, we recommend connecting with your child in the evening where we will be based at our hotel and where the wifi is plentiful!
